  • Basic Natural Lotion (silicone free)
  • Phase A--Beaker 1 (must be smaller than beaker #2)

    Water or any hydrosol 60.75%

    ​Xanthan Gum 0.2%

    Gliceryn 2%

    EDTA 0.05%

    ​Phase B--Beaker 2

    Emulsifying wax 6%

    Olea Europea (Olive) oil 17%

    Evening primrose oil 4.7%

    Jojoba Oil ​7.3%

    Tocopheyl Acetate 1%

    Cetearyl Alcohol 0.5%​

    ​Phase C ---Into main beaker

    ​Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol,and Hexylene Glycol 0.1%

    Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract 0.3%​

    Fragrance (as much as you like)

    Sodium Hyaluronate 0.1%​

    ​Procedure

    ​Weight and add the water (boiled-distilled) in beaker #1. Sprinkle in the xanthin gum. Heat the mixture to about 65C while stirring until a thin gel if formed-at least 20 minutes (use a magnetic stirrer like this- great for beginners). Add the glycerin,EDTA and hydrosol (if used). Set apart.

    Weight the oils,Vitamin E, wax and cetearyl alcohol and add them to beaker #2. Heat until the solid ingredients are completely melted. Do not heat too much.

    Using a suitable mixer (not a kitchen blender) add the water phase in beaker #1 in beaker #2 and continue mixing until the lotion is slightly warm.

    Add the remaining ingredients and continue mixing.
